Emma Watson uses strong language to paint a sad picture of ways that girls and women and boys and men are disenfranchised from society through gender stereotypes, name calling, and biased words, such as "anti-men" and "unattractive." Watson also uses transition expressions that depict sadness; however, she also creates a hopeful future, painting a contrasting picture of what can happen if both girls and boys are allowed to fulfill their potential. In short, she wants to restore a meaning of feminism that encompasses human rights.
