Jessamine Lovelace is a Shadowhunter who detests everything about being a Shadowhunter. Even though Jessamine hates being a Shadowhunter, and is willing to do whatever she can to live a normal life, Jessamine is a talented fighter and can protect herself if she needs to. Jessamine lost her parents when she was a child.
Jessamine was married to Nate Gray, whom she helped at the expense of the Clave, until his death. For this, Jessamine is punished by having her wealth confiscated. As she returns to the London Institute after being punished, a carriage with automatons attacks the Institute and kills Jessamine. As Jessamine is dying, she tells Will that Mortmain is in Cadar Idris, a mountain in Wales.
Jessamine is seen in other series, as her ghost returns to protect the Institute.
